Have you seen this man? Because SFPD say that he's wanted in two sexual assault cases in the Mission along 24th Street. One attack occurred on November 18th and a rape happened yesterday, December 9th. SFPD reports: "Both victims were walking in the early morning hours between 3:00 am and 6:30 am. when they were attacked from behind. A struggle ensued and the victims were sexually assaulted and then robbed of their belongings in both incidents. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction with the victims items."
San Francisco Police Special Victims Unit urges the public to help identify the cretin. Witnesses or folks with information are asked to call the anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip at TIP411 from their cell phones. (Please include "SFPD" in the beginning of the text message.)

While I do understand what you are saying to an extent, I wanted to point a few things out.The word rape is not necessarily a particularly clear or succinct word either. It includes any kind of forcible penetration of the vagina or anus but excludes things like sexual torture or even child molestation. Someone could be raped digitally (with fingers) or with a penis or with a foreign object - and all of those realities are extremely distinct yet none any "better" or "worse" than any other.
As a rape survivor and rape crisis counselor I can also tell you that identifying as "rape" victim is not something all women who suffer this kind of assault are immediately ready to do.
