The Scoop:
Murray was a freshman All-American a year ago, and the redshirt sophomore proved to be as smart as he was athletic. Stepping into a tough situation early (he was without A.J. Green for the first four games due to suspension), Murray managed to excel with both his arm and legs, setting several school records in the process.
By the end of the year Murray had thrown for 3,049 yards and 24 touchdown passes with only eight interceptions.
Backups Hutson Mason and Christian LeMay have also shown plenty of talent, and help give the Bulldogs a good deal of depth at one of the most important positions on the field. Still, this is Murray’s team, and he needs to stay healthy if Georgia is going to rebound from last year’s disappointing season.

The Scoop: Crowell is the young man Bulldog Nation is counting on to bring back memories of Herschel Walker, and the freshman tailback has worked hard during fall camp to earn playing time. Of course, he was going to earn playing time regardless; losing Caleb King to academic issues and Washaun Ealey to transfer has thinned out the backfield considerably.
With Carlton Thomas suspended for the season opener it’ll be up to Crowell and Samuels to carry the rushing load against Boise State on Saturday.
The fullback spot was decimated by graduation, so Figgins has shifted over from tight end to fill the big shoes of Shaun Chapas and Fred Munzenmaier.
