A New Telecommunications Solution Enhances Productivity And Patient Care
Earl LeDuc of Escanada, Mich., had obtained an accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy from CUNA Mutual Group in 2009. Allstate Insurance Group maintained second place with $17.0 billion and a 10.4% share.But even Amica Mutual Group, which moved to 25 from 26 in 2009, had over $ 946 million in premiums. We have been using disparate phone systems in each of our offices, compromising the effectiveness of communication between staff, consultants and patients. We needed a short term solution.For some time, inefficiencies related to our telecommunications have been a growing concern. Calls from patients in need of advice, sometimes not answered when call volume is too high or the phones were left unattended at remote sites with limited staff.Inter-office communication between staff on mental health professionals was also difficult. The staff to call an outside line and the full phone number, making quick consult bulky, which makes it impossible to transfer a call outside a clinic to another.
In addition to these communication problems, our phones were affected our results. The continual interaction between offices permits high phone bills each month. Staff resources were also allocated inappropriately. Instead of focusing on patient care, we had staff at each location by processing insurance billing and other administrative tasks.
