Mind of a Freshman – It's that time of year
At the mere sight of us. Oh, come on, when else will I ever use a word like that awesome? Obnoxious vocabulary aside, seeing the graduates away leads me to believe that this is an annual occurrence. Whatever it is, it seems to be impervious to the powers of orange juice and chicken soup, making it an incredibly irritating and resistant infection. For now, a panacea or Full Heal - whichever you prefer to call it - would be incredibly welcome. I warn everyone sick to get checked, what I thought was a cold seems to have turned into a nasty sinus infection or something like that.I can see why this happens. As the first year, we're not used to living away from home or in so close. This disease does not appear to be isolated for the freshman dorms - some rooms Davis, Hayden, and Humphreys were all affected. The plague rookie seems to lie in wait in the dormitories, finding new victims to trap dirty with his claws. I referred to the lack of hygiene in certain establishments freshman dorm, that the bathrooms in the past. These conditions are really not acceptable, and seem already to have led to the spread of bacteria and disease already.Experiences such as finding ants crawling in the bathroom (even toilet seats) and find one or two inches of water around my sandals with hair and other unidentifiable substances every time I take a shower is certainly not inspire confidence. There is a time for change. Stevens and his students claim to be an "innovation university", then it's time for some innovative thinking and action.
Before falling ill, I came up with some ideas on how to improve conditions in the showers. I can not stand idly by now that these conditions may have affected my health. It would be difficult or costly to implement my system, it consists of only three simple elements. I will try to give a brief description of what I have in mind.
The first element would be to replace the drainage grates with grids more functional. Current grids are filled with hair and other substances on a regular basis and overflow, frankly, the cleaning of these grids is not a job that anyone wants.Drainage grates that function as a "grabber" is not so difficult to design to fit the current configuration and allow both students and cleaning staff an easy solution for cleaning the grids, think of it as a "dirt grabber," simply vacuum cleaning, no contact required. The second element is what I can only describe as an elevated, solid bath mat. Basically, I am considering a surface with holes to let water through (a bit like a bath mat), which is high enough to give students a surface that will not be covered in water if drains kind of shoes. This could be either a permanent or something that you can deploy when entering a shower. The final element is the availability of certain commodities (such as Clorox wipes, scrapers, and things of that nature) out of the shower. This would make it easier for students to clean up after themselves in an efficient manner, making a better environment for all.

A nasal irrigation is a great way to reduce pain and sinus congestion in the nasal passages. Saline irrigation has been a wide use in medicine and Western as a common way to treat sinusitis, persistent, but personally, I identified the use of saline to be much more effective in my whole body.
I just pour a capful of saline immediately in every single one of my nostrils, and leaned my head back for a number of times. I allowed the saline to go to so significantly from the nasal cavity as he could and then I leaned my head over the sink and allow to drain. At the peak of infection, I felt a little tingling in my sinus cavity, and as my infection healed, I have not come to feel much. At this point, it felt like my nose in H2O. I did wake up irrigation and just before bed might.
Also, just ahead probably in bed, I used the eucalyptus oil in particular, one of two methods. Everything depended on how I got lazy. If I have time, so I boil water in a cup and put about 8 drops of each oil in the cup, and allowed them to clear their fragrance into space. If I forgot or did not have time to heat the water, then I simply used oils put four drops of each one in my hands and rubbed against my shirt and rubbed the bottom of my feet with oil just before going to bed. Both strategies seem to help much.
