Genealogy meeting
The St. Augustine Genealogical Society meets at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Family History Library, LDS Church, 500 Deltona Blvd., St. Augustine Shores. The topic will be: "Restoring old family photos," presented by Wojtek Dyczewski.
All meetings of the society are free and open to the public.

Eagles celebration
The Fraternal Order of Eagles will host an anniversary celebration at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at the aerie, 13 S. Dixie Hwy. Tickets are available in the social quarter at $10 per person. Election of a trustee is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at the aerie.

By From Staff The St. Augustine Genealogical Society meets at 1 pm Saturday at the Family History Library, LDS Church, 500 Deltona Blvd., St. Augustine Shores. The topic will be: "Restoring old family photos," presented by Wojtek Dyczewski.
Savings could be significant for those who must make a drive to an LDS Family History Center. The church has a vast collection of microfilm records from all over the world; they're stored in massive mountain vaults in Salt Lake City.
"They are well aware of the history of the church, its ups and downs, bumps and bruises, from being involved in politics," said Craig Foster, a devout Mormon, research consultant at the church's Family History Library and co-author of "The Mormon Quest
These records were microfilmed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) and are on file at the LDS Family History Center in Westlake and at the Cuyahoga County Archives in Cleveland. A 20-page searchable index of all the people buried
On hand to answer questions about genealogy research will be representatives from these groups: LDS Family History Center, Yellowstone Genealogy Forum, Germans from Russia, Daughters of the American Revolution and Parmly Billings Library.

Believe it or not, there exists in Utah the family history library of the Latter day Saint. The fact of the matter is that this library contains one of the largest genealogical info collection in all the world.
This family history library was founded way back in the year 1894 by the Utah Genealogical Society.
The LDS family history library is carefully committed to capture on film all data in all th world on any and every public record. This include wills, deeds, births, marriages and death.
The following are steps you could do if you are planning to go to the LDS family history library and do your own genealogical search.
When at the LDS family history library website
Look up and go to the familysearch.org to be able to get the info you need on the location of the LDS family history library as well as its history.
Find the library directions as well as a layout of all the records of the library, and any accommodations of nearby hotels if you plan to go through your own genealogical search.
