So here's my question: it's been nearly fifty years since her death; is there anything more to talk about other than how she wasn't that great of an actress and was popular mostly because she was sexy?Speaking of sexy people I'm tired of hearing about: Ryan Gosling! Jeez, can you please stop detailing how you all have a total boner for him ? I've seen a handful of his movies (the excellent Half Nelson among them), and none of them are really that great! And I don't think he's ever given a particularly convincing performance, unless I should be convinced that he doesn't have much to say (as writer Daniel D'Addario so eloquently wrote this morning ). Seriously, I don't think he's ever had much to add to a film other than his pretty face (and his ability to balance a toothpick between his teeth in the insufferably dull and overhyped Drive , a film that made me have empathy for a sex doll, Gosling emotes about as often as the inanimate object of his affections.
Try to convince me that Gosling has any sort of personality behind that dopey grin of his, and I'll convince you that it's all fabricated by a blog .
Let's make a deal, folks: if you all stop lauding Monroe and Gosling, I'll stop complaining about them. Deal?
