Kenya was once a stable and democratic country with a robust economy. It was a very admired and tourism industry has been relatively quiet compared to other African countries, despite the fact that its population of 37 million was divided into 40 ethnic groups.
Change came in December 2007 with the election of President Mwai Kibaki. The election was accused as faulty and has been challenged.Violence erupted rapidly across Kenya, killing over 1,400 people and displaced 300,000 others.
"The goal of 'Kenya: Passing the Torch" is to shed light on the struggle of a people and a government to create a united Europe, civil society from that which is currently divided by disrupting tribal tensions, corruption , land distribution, and social issues exacerbated by the severe drought of 2009, "said Michalczyk, a professor of fine arts at Boston College who has produced and directed the film.
Other films include: Boston College theologian Raymond Helmick, SJ, (associate producer) Liz Walker (narrator); Clark Booth (script); Mokua Elias, SJ (field producer) Gautam Chopra (Editor), and two members of the BC Class of 2011 Thomas and Peter Yu Rogelio Project funding comes from the Thomas and Erma Jean Tracy Family Foundation, the Institute of the Jesuits at Boston College and Rotary International.
Michalczyk is a film documentary producer, screenwriter and director whose films explore issues of social justice, discrimination, hatred, war and peace.His work has been seen on public television and in international film festivals. She attended the Escuela Nacional de Arte and the Instituto Superior de Arte before studies as an exchange student at the Massachusetts College of Art brought her to the US in 1988. She has lived and worked in Boston since 1991.

Boston, MA .- The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) is proud to present "two masters of Fantasy: Bresdin and Redon," on view at the museum until January 16th 2012. The exhibition presents 43 works - 22 by the teacher Bresdin Rodolphe (1822-1885) and 21 by his student Odilon Redon (1840-1916), collected mainly from the collections of the Museum, with loans to select private collectors. Included are black and white lithographs, prints and charcoal drawings and a watercolor and pastel.A highlight of the exhibition at the Clementine Gallery Brown's recent acquisition of the AMF, the spectacular design "Tears (The Tears)" by Odilon Redon. Two masters of the Fantasy was held Rodolphe Bresdin, eccentric French artist, was a self-taught writer and artist who was inspired by the first century illustration, romantic book of the 19th. Although Bresdin, a "painter", has received modest recognition in his life, he had a strong influence on his student Odilon Redon, French artist who began his studies with the master in 1865.Bresdin prints and drawings are characterized by dense imagery of the natural world, executed in black and white dynamic. His landscapes are claustrophobic jungle, threatening to overwhelm those who enter. While most of his works are small (almost in miniature) in the scale masterpiece Bresdin "Good Samaritan" (1861) is one of his prints larger, measuring about 22 " by 17. "It depicts an incident in which an Algerian with help from Christian victim during the civil war in Syria in 1860, reflecting the parable of the Good Samaritan.Also on view in "two masters of Fantasy" are the "Mountain Landscape with the army in a rocky gorge" very detailed drawing (1865) and burning "branches" (1880), which reflect the interests of Bresdin in the wilderness.
