The Keros family, owners of American Coney Island restaurant and descendants of Detroit "Coney Dog" inventor Gust Keros, will celebrate Detroit's signature favorite food next month while supporting the city's next generation of chefs at Golightly Vocational and Technical Center in the Detroit Public Schools. From 5-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 13, a hot dog eating challenge will be held at the restaurant at 115 Michigan Ave. in downtown Detroit. Individuals and teams of six will compete to consume the most coney dogs in 10 minutes. Winners will receive trophies and prizes from a variety of local retailers, restaurants and other supporters, including a year of free meals at American Coney Island, and Golightly students will benefit thanks to donations to the school's scholarship program. There is one thing I love just as much as coffee and that is biscotti ! I am always telling myself to stop eating them because they are so good. Nonni’s is the best that I have since then, and the Biscotti Bites are perfect to take with when I am on the go, which is quite often. My favorite is always original but I am always happy to see different flavors such as Caramel Milk Chocolate….YUM! I recommend everyone trying out Nonni’s Biscotti Bites the next time you have a hot cup of coffee, even if you don’t drink coffee you have to try them! They are delicious!!!!!
