Pokémon Black/White: Revolution of the Franchise? (Review)
Hey everybody, another generation of Pokémon has arrived! As one of the best selling franchises on Nintendo’s portable systems since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green launched in Japan back in 1996, this should get DS (and 3DS) owners quite excited. Thing is, I always come to the same verdict with almost every main Pokémon game I play: solid turn-based RPG mechanics, updated graphics, small nifty additions, better connectivity, but in essence it’s the same game you’ve been playing since 1998. Well, the fifth generation games are here, promising more changes, and we are going to see if it can give the series some more fresh air. Read more to find out!
Starting a new game, you also get a bit of a cinematic beginning and end, including a movie-like “Game Freak presents,” hinting at a more involving story. It’s still the same “new region, start in small town, become the best trainer, defeat criminal organization, demonstrate that loving Pokémon is better than sheer strength” structure we’ve seen before. The biggest differences are some more character involvement and Team Plasma. Team Plasma’s main goal is the liberation of Pokémon from people. They question the general public whether Pokémon are truly happy being confined to their Poké Balls. It becomes a fight of you, friends, gym leaders, and champions against Team Plasma’s ideals. The story has a good amount of potential, but never gets sophisticated. It’s likely because the games have to remain child-friendly. Still, it’s an improvement on storytelling for the series.
Graphically, there is a good dose of new visual pizazz. All the Pokémon sprites in battles are now fully animated, though they are limited to idle motions. There is also more 3D modeling and graphics effects to showcase the Unova region and for significant story cutscenes. All cities have their own unique buildings, and gyms and the Pokémon League get much more elaborate designs. This makes Pokémon Black/White quite better looking than previous titles. Audio merely gets a “meh” in every category. Nothing’s been changed with the sound design; new music, new cries for the new Pokémon, same Game Boy cries for the old Pokémon, basic sound effects, same feel, not much else to say.

Does it set up events for "Legion Of Super-Heroes" or is it a standalone story? Paul Levitz: They are pretty separate; I think the idea on "Secret Origin" is that we've told the basic story of the incident that sparked the Legion a zillion times,

COD is no Pokemon and will have lost much popularity before the tenth one. I will LOL so hard if there is a COD 10. Point is Sony/Microsoft make really really really shit first party games when compared to Nintendo. When COD fades out they wont have
ex Light Deck vs Dark Deck: Complete! Dark Spiritomb and Light ...
Inspired by Flame Claws EX: Darkness Reborn, this is ex Light Deck vs Dark Deck. This is a mini-fake set, only consisting of 20 cards, involving Light Pokemon and Dark Pokemon. Each deck has 10 different cards, being a 30-card half deck. When making this fake set, I decided that I wanted to follow some sort of "theme" for the two types. So, the Dark type Pokemon in this set are faster than the Light types and do more damage, but they aren't as defensive and don't have a lot of HP. Light types, on the other hand, are slower and don't do as much damage, but these Pokemon have more HP and are more defensive. So, which side are you on? I do like the idea of the decks, but there are a few things that I have problems with. I don't really like the fact that Reshiram and Zekrom basically are the same cards just substituting "Light" and "Dark" in the appropriate place. I'm not creative by any means, but I would have liked to see more variety. Also, the Poke-Power seems difficult to pull off. There are only 5 Light Pokemon and 5 Dark Pokemon (including one evolution), and in a 30 card deck, it seems like getting a full field of Pokemon would not be feasible.
